The CCL 2013 season will start in Kochi on 9th February 2013 Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) which started with four teams in 2010 has grown bleaps and bounds. 2011 saw an addition of two teams, Kerala Strikers and Bengal Tigers.
Now CCL has proudly announced an addition of two more teams, Veer Marathi owned by Mr. Riteish Deshmukh and Bhojpuri Dabbangs captained by popular Bhojpuri star Mr. Manoj Tiwari. The third season of CCL will kick start on 9th February 2013.
Recently Kiccha Sudeep, Captain of the Karnataka Bull Dozers team along with its owner Ashok Kheny participated in a press conference organsied in Hyderabad to announce their preparedness for next year's season. The KBL team has been considered the strongest team, but luck has not so far favoured them in 2011 and 2012 editions.
Earlier, CCL Season 3 announced the same at a Press Conference held in Mumbai on 19th October 2012 at Hotel Novotel, Juhu. The star studded
league had the captains present in the event Suniel Shetty, Sohail Khan, Sudeep, Mohanlal,Vishal, Ritesh Deshmukh amongst others.
While Ritesh spoke about how his experience from his previous team Mumbai heroes would help in building his team and will have players like Shreya Talpade, Mahesh Manjrekar and many other popular Marathi actors and Manoj Tiwary spoke about how there were twenty four actors from the Bhojpuri industry who have been practicing for last six months to make it to the playing eleven of Bhojpuri Dabbangs.
CCL 2 was a widely watched event on popular television networks. The ratings have been much more than that of a lot of other international matches. The Average TVR of Sun TV (Tamil) was 6.8, Udaya TV (Kannada) was 5.4, Gemini TV (Telugu) was 4.7 and Surya TV (Malayalam) was 5.5.
Some of the matches were viewed by more people than even the prestigious IPL matches.
After seeing the tremendous response that CCL 2 received in Kochi last year when a crowd of around 70,000 people turned up to watch the match, CCL Season 3 open their first match of the league in Kochi on February 9th 2013.
CCL travels to various places reaching out to fans all over the country and abroad. In 2012 the tournament started in Sharjah and the finals were held in Hyderabad where the Chennai Rhinos defeated Karnataka Bulldozers in the finals and won the series.
The participating teams are as follows Bengal Tigers, Chennai Rhinos, Kerala Strikers, Karnataka Bulldozers, Mumbai Heroes, Telugu Warriors and the two new teams Veer Marathas and Bhojpuri Dabbangs.
