Mohanlal is going to play an important role in Srinath Rajendran's next project titled "Koothara". Srinath who made his debut as director through last year's sleeper hit, "Second Show" which marked the debut of Dulquer Salman & Sunny Wayne. The rest of the cast comprises of Bharath, Sunny Wayne, Tovino Thomas etc etc. Vini Viswalal, who scripted Second Show, will be setting up the screenplay of this film and Pappu will be handling the frames. Pravin K B & Srinath N L are the editors of this movie while Gopi Sundar will be handling the music department. The film is produced by Shahul Hamid Marikar & Minhal Mohammadali under the banner Marikar Films. The shooting of the film has commenced at Cochin and Mohanlal will be joining the team as soon as he complete Jilla's Hyderabad schedule. This will be one of Mohanlal's 2014 releases through Marikar Release.
